*Over 25 years of experience in pediatric physical therapy
*Specializing in torticollis for 20 years
I have always had a love for pediatrics and pursued physical therapy in order to provide pediatric therapy. I have worked in hospital, outpatient clinic and school settings as well as home health. When Covid 19 created a change in the way we practice, we had to adapt by treating many of our patients through telehealth. Many patients were difficult to treat in that platform, but I found that my torticollis patients did better. I believe that the strong education and hands on training done by the parents provided the strongest foundation for improvement. Parents felt more comfortable providing therapy to their children and in turn, the children showed a better recovery. An additional benefit was that parents enjoyed not having to travel to the clinic; they did not have to worry about exposing their child to germs or having to drive a long distance to see me. Additionally, the babies tolerated treatment better with less stranger anxiety and feeling more comfortable in their home environment.
I look forward to continuing to reach families that are outside of our greater Atlanta and that may otherwise not have access to trained pediatric physical therapists.
*Your participation in a home program is so important to your child’s outcome in physical therapy. By doing therapy through telehealth we are teaching you to be the best PT for your baby.
*Your baby can be in treated in the comfort of your own home. This minimizes worries of stranger anxiety, exposure to illnesses, and long trips in the car
*Ease of finding a highly specialized therapist that does not have to be local to your area.
